It's baaaack...
The GT was returned from the shop a week ago Saturday (the same day as the first meeting of an Ann Arbor Area Scooter Club, Yet To Be Named), new tire, belt, rollers, fluids and much love to bring it back to healthy state. I hope.
Now if it would just get a wee bit warmer...

Bad bad me...
The GT is in for maintenance this week. Yes, this is the first time since the Cannonball anyone has given it much love. I've only ridden about a thousand miles since last September, but it has been almost 6,000 miles since the pre-Cannonball maintenance love fest.
I am suspicious of the exhaust, it *feels* like it's developing into the gasket failure/set your scooter on fire failure scenario, but I don't feel like I'm riding a Harley yet. I was informed that the exhaust gasket failure is now no longer considered a warranty item, but "normal wear and tear." I suspect if the government heard about a car that had a failure where the car burned up just from "normal wear and tear", there would be a recall. I think the revolution is already scheduled here, Piaggio just hasn't gotten the invitation. Regardless, I'm looking for GT/GTS exhaust solutions that don't suck themselves.
I am also considering stepping up to a Malossi Kevlar belt. Seems like a smart thing if I continue to beat the crap out of the belt like I am. I am waiting for a sign from the heavens on this one.
The weather turned beautiful as soon as I dropped the GT off in Eastpointe, of course. Record temps the last couple days... 81 degrees! I should have sent out a press release predicting the turn in the weather, it was obviously just waiting for me to be scooter-less.

It's never to early to start...
Hi. It's me, back again. Not sure where we are going, but I know where we've been and it's taught us several painful lessons (it took months to recover from some of them... you don't want to know).
Time to start thinking about the next trip... We've already addressed one glaring issue with the 2006 adventure and replaced the dead TomTom Rider GPS (now that was a total waste of enough money to throw a kick ass drunken bacchanalias -- write me for details) with a totally cool Garmin Zumo 550. I cannot say enough good things about the Zumo. One positive purchase I made for the 2006 run was the Cardo Scala bluetooth headset for my helmet, worked great with my phone (and the TomTom when it worked) and works great with the Zumo too.
Just wanted to poke my head in and start the ball rolling. Back soon with more updates.
